Financial Support for Individuals Undergoing Cancer Treatment

OBJECTIVE OF THE MEASURE
The purpose of the measure is to protect the health and well-being of the individual and the family, particularly in situations that may negatively affect physical and mental well-being.

ELIGIBILITY 
This measure is available to residents of Lombardy who are undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy for cancer and who may experience alopecia or significant skin-related side effects. Applicants must not have already applied for this same benefit during the calendar year in which the request is submitted.

TYPE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ASSISTANCE
The contribution is granted up to a maximum of:

• €250.00 for the purchase of a wig;
• €400.00 for the purchase of a hair prosthesis;
• €70.00 per person for oncological beauty treatments.

HOW TO USE THE ASSISTANCE 
Applicants may either purchase a wig independently or go through an authorized third-sector organization participating in the program:

• independent purchase: the applicant must submit the request directly after registering and/or logging in to the "Bandi e Servizi" platform, then search for “parrucche” in the search bar;
• if the applicant chooses to rely on an accredited organization (see Decree no. 19022/2019 in the annexes), the organization will submit the application on their behalf via the "Bandi e Servizi" platform, after verifying that all eligibility requirements are met;
• Oncological Beauty Treatments: applications for financial support for oncological beauty treatments may be submitted as a standalone request in addition to an application for a wig or hair prosthesis.

In all cases, only one application for year for beauty treatments is allowed.

“Oncological beauty treatment” refers to cosmetic treatments performed by appropriately trained professionals. Eligible treatments include:

• Eyebrow dermopigmentation
• Facial treatments
• Hand treatments
• Foot treatments

Massage treatments are not included.

Applications must refer to treatments carried out after 1 December 2025, the date of approval of Regional Government Resolution (DGR) 5413/2025.

Applications (submitted either by individuals or by third-sector organizations) will be accepted until the allocated funds are fully exhausted.
